I see a lot of great choices here! The color selection is spot on—the bright yellows pop beautifully against the fabric and background. The contrast is strong, and the addition of the knife adds a dynamic touch. Maybe something feels a bit empty in the lower part? Not entirely sure, but it’s worth experimenting! Keep testing and sharing—we love seeing your creative process.
How did you decide on this lighting setup? It really enhances the texture of the lemons! 🍋
@sussan_scoolinaryteam , what do you think? 🤔

@Sol Damiani thanks. I have very big windows in my kitchen to the left of the shot so I used those as my light source. I’m a little low on props at the moment but I would have liked a wooden board in the shot too.

Hi @soldamiani & @nikki19_84msn-com your photo looks great! The vibrant color of the lemons and the soft light make it feel fresh and natural.
If you want to play around with lighting a bit more, you can make a DIY reflector using cardboard and aluminum foil. Just stick the foil to the cardboard with the shiny side facing out and position it strategically to soften shadows or add more brightness.
The composition has a relaxed yet well-thought-out feel, and the contrast with the green cloth adds a nice touch. If you’re up for experimenting, you could try slightly shifting the knife to create more dynamism in the image.
Keep exploring—you’re on the right track!🙌🏻
