The beans were cooked in silence, slowly, as nature knows how to wait, and in its thick, dark mixture were hidden the years of ancestors. Without meat, but rich like everything the earth could offer, each bean carried the scent of everyday life, unknowingly uniting the past and present.

A drizzle of oil, gently slippery, wrapped around each bean, while the hot crushed paprika, in its simple power, added fiery strength. It was not just paprika, but a passion rising to the lips, reminding that nothing in life is complete without its secret heat.

This dish was a reminder of all that is lost and found again in simplicity, in the moment when nothing is too much, but everything is enough.

The way you describe the paprika almost makes you feel the heat rising with every bite. There’s so much more than just ingredients here—this dish has soul.

Do you add the oil at the end, or do you use it during cooking as well? That shine in the photo gives it an extra tempting touch.

Thanks for sharing not just the process, but the emotion behind it. This is the kind of storytelling that makes reading about food truly enjoyable! ☺️

@Sussan Estela Olaya Thank you dear. I added the oil at the very end. Lightly fry the paprika in the oil and pour over the beans.

@undefined What a great trick! That final touch with the infused oil must enhance the flavor of the paprika even more and give the beans an amazing texture. I can almost smell the aroma as you pour it… pure culinary pleasure. Thanks for sharing this amazing tip and dish. ❤️

Nada como un buen plato de cuchara bien calentito. A mí me gustan las alubias y las tuyas tienen ese algo especial. Estoy segura que estarán riquísimas👏

@Maloles Muñoz Thank you dear. This type of bean is prepared in the south of Serbia, where my mother-in-law is from. It’s great to learn from her because she’s my favorite chef. ❤️

And that is how Lana’s new version of The Hobbit starts: not with dwarves and dragons, but with beans—patient, earthy, and ancient. 🫘✨ A tale simmered low and slow, where every bite carries the weight of quiet resilience and the fire of secret paprika.
It’s culinary storytelling at its finest, where simplicity isn’t the absence of complexity, but the mastery of it. Was the oil infused or left pure to honor the beans? And that paprika—was it the bold smoky type, or something more delicate and sweet?
Some dishes don’t just feed you… they narrate you. 🔥📖🍲

@Sol Damiani If my version of The Hobbit begins with beans, then every spoonful is an epic of its own—patient, grounded, carrying the weight of quiet resilience, just as you so beautifully put it.

The oil? Infused, of course—because why let it simply exist when it can whisper its own depth into the broth? And the paprika? Boldly smoked, kissed by the flame just enough to awaken its fire, but never to steal the spotlight.

Some dishes nourish, others narrate. And the greatest joy is sharing these edible stories with those who don’t just taste but truly listen.

@Beatriz Torija This is more of a side dish. Thick baked beans, slightly blended. We usually serve it as a lean dish with fish. But of course it can also be served with meat. ☺️ You definitely have to try it ❤️
