A Swiss roll is always a Swiss roll.

I believe we are passionate about the flavors we experienced in childhood. This might be the secret of the Swiss roll.

It is easy to prepare, requires only a few basic ingredients, and is always a great success, just like last weekend when I hosted friends for dinner. I filled this fluffy sponge cake roll with my homemade apricot marmalade—there’s simply no comparison. 🙂🍑

          How delicious that sounds, Orsolya!

Childhood flavors have that power to transport us to special moments. In my country, we have a similar version of the Swiss roll called “Pionono,” which is basically the same fluffy sponge cake (genoise), filled with dulce de leche, rolled up, and then dusted with powdered sugar or icing sugar. During the holidays, it’s typical to make mini versions and place them on the dessert table.

I loved your version, and the presentation in the photo was beautiful.
          Thanks for sharing! 💫

@sussan_scoolinaryteam I adore this dough because it is so versatile. Here in Argentina, at Christmas, we make tuna poinono. My brother surprised me A LOT last year with a blue cheese one. OMG! The combination of this cute sweetness and the tenderness of it in contrast with the blue cheese is so nice.

Man, a couple of those with my coffee right now would be amazing.

There’s something so beautifully satisfying about continuing to make dishes like this. And the homemade marmalade had to be the chef’s kiss!
