Hi guys, @sussan_scoolinaryteam asked me how I make Vanilla Extract… so, here’s a my version:
Take 3-5 vanilla pods; they can be used as well as 0.25 liters of alcohol (95% or vodka). Put the pods into the vodka, close the bottle, and place it in a dark place for 4 weeks. When the liquid is dark, you can use it for cakes, cookies, and creams.
During the cooking/baking time, the alcohol will evaporate, and the vanilla extract will stay in the cake or cream. If you use other vanilla pods, you can add them to this vanilla extract to intensify the flavor.
It is a good way how to use vanilla in a costeffective way. 🙂

☺Fun fact: I discovered a new use for vanilla extract! In Buenos Aires, we recently had a mosquito invasion, and someone shared with me a recipe for a homemade repellent: vanilla extract, vinegar, and water. It works!
