Creative Croquette: Liquid Cheese

As I mixed the batter, I could feel the Belgrader and Bovidur melting together like two lovers who had finally found their rhythm. Belgrader was gentle, yielding, while Bovidur resisted—proud, stubborn—but in the end… in the end, he softened too.
I dressed them in their finest attire—first, a thin layer of flour to protect them, then eggs to embrace them, and finally, a double coat of breadcrumbs: fine ones for balance and panko for that daring crunch. As they descended into the hot oil, I listened to their song—the crackling, the whispering, the excitement.
And then, as I lifted them out, golden and proud, I gave them what they were missing—Honing Mosterd sauce. Sweet, but with a hint of defiance, like an unspoken secret.
The first bite was pure magic. The moment my teeth broke through the crisp golden shell, the melted cheese inside erupted like liquid gold, wrapping my tongue in waves of creamy warmth. And then, just as I thought I had tasted it all, the mustard sauce struck—a perfect contrast of sweetness and spice, igniting an explosion of flavors in my mouth. It was indulgence, passion, and surprise, all in a single, unforgettable bite.
And, as always, I wasn’t the only judge. My neighbors—who had long since subscribed to my academy challenges as self-proclaimed top critics—had already tasted and were now nodding in approval, their eyes closed in satisfaction and blissful smiles on their faces.

“The cheeses melt just right—creamy, rich, and each bite is better than the last.”
“And the mustard sauce… this is pure art!”

Another epic season in Lana’s croquette universe! Each dish feels like an episode in a series you never want to end,unforgettable characters (Belgrader and Bovidur, what a duo), tension-filled storylines (Will Bovidur resist, or will it surrender to the heat of the moment?), and a thrilling finale with Mosterd sauce as the ultimate plot twist.
All that’s missing is the official trailer: “In a world where cheese defies the laws of physics and croquettes don their finest armor… a new culinary adventure begins.” What a joy to witness these stories unfold! Will there be a new series? A season 5? I can’t wait to find out! 🤩

@Sussan Estela Olaya Dear, I also had the fifth season, but it ended ingloriously. More precisely, a total disaster 😂😂😂 We are canceling the filming of the fifth season until further notice. Now I’m sitting and laughing at myself 😂 I wanted to end this adventure sweetly and in the end the series turned from romance to horror in my kitchen. Although I must say that not everything is a total failure. There will be no croquettes, but the mixture for them will get its new outfit 😁 Conclusion, this story won’t end, there’s always another season ☺️

@lanamihajlovic This is a true croquette multiverse, Lana! From romance to horror in a single episode… even Hitchcock wouldn’t have dared to go that far in the kitchen! But I love your unstoppable screenwriter mindset,if one season doesn’t work, you just rewrite the script and keep going.
After all, every great saga has its unexpected plot twist. If the croquette mix has found a new destiny, then it’s not a failure,it’s a spin-off! Now the real question is: will it be a drama, a comedy, or a culinary thriller? I can’t wait to see what’s next in this ever-expanding croquette universe. ❤️

@Sol Damiani Thank you for the kind words! The double breading was actually Chef Chema’s advice – he always insists on perfect texture, so this was the right move for that extra crunch. The double breading is also because of the liquid cheese filling, which needed extra structure. 💪🏼
